Favorite verse or book of the Bible and reason: Psalm 37 3-7
“Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD,and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD.Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the LORD,and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”
This passage is an awesome reminder to let go and let God.
Define (in your own words) what it means to be a godly man in your generation: A godly man (any generation) is one with a surrendered heart for God and pursues a daily relationship with Him.
Other than the presumed answer, “Follow Jesus,” what are one to three key lessons in life that you would encourage young people everywhere to consider?
- Don’t confuse religion with Christianity. Some of the meanest, sinful folks I’ve ever experienced are very religious.
- A Christian is one who lives in relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship is not a birthright you receive from your parents, pastor, friends, etc-at best they can only have influence by example.
- You must embrace the fact that every individual ever born must take their own journey to discover what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ – and accept Christ as your personal savior.
What are one or two dead end roads that you have found in your journey? Any time I try to walk in my own power – dead end. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit we can obey God as He intended.
